Dr. Véronique Laloë serves as Chair of the Continuing Medical Education (CME) Committee of the Division of General Surgery and currently leads the Operating Theatre Council, overseeing quality control and standards within the operating theatre. She has significant experience in international humanitarian surgery, having worked extensively with Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) across Africa and Asia between 1985 and 2004.
Within the UEMS, she served from 2018 to 2022 as Chair of the Eligibility Committee for the European Board of Surgery Qualification (EBSQ) examinations in General Surgery. She also co-authored, together with Arthur Felice, the European Training Requirements (ETR) for the specialty of General Surgery.
Dr. Laloë has authored numerous publications covering surgical education, emergency and unscheduled surgical care, burns management, traumatic brain injury, and surgery in resource-limited or isolated environments.
