Tom Glomsaker

Professor and senior consultant in gastrointestinal surgery at Oslo University Hospital, Ullevål, where he served as Head of GI Surgery from 2015 to 2025. He obtained his medical degree in Bonn, Germany, a Master of Health Administration in Oslo, and a PhD from the University of Bergen. Board-certified in general and gastrointestinal surgery in Sweden and Norway, he has more than 37 years of surgical and endoscopic experience, with particular expertise in minimally invasive surgery, ERCP, emergency surgery, and quality assessment. He has held numerous national and international leadership roles, including President of the Norwegian Surgical Association and Executive Board Member of the European Society of Surgery, and is an Honorary Fellow of the European Board of Surgery.
