Dr. Matteo Mascherini was born in Genoa, Italy, in 1987. He graduated in Medicine and Surgery cum laude in 2012 and completed his specialization in General Surgery cum laude in 2019 at the University of Genoa. Since 2021, he has served as Consultant Surgeon at San Martino Teaching Hospital, Genoa, and Surgical Referent for the Sarcoma Tumour Board. He is Adjunct Professor of General Surgery at the Genoa Residency School since 2024. His clinical expertise includes minimally invasive melanoma and lower gastrointestinal surgery. Dr. Mascherini is Fellow of the European Board of Surgery in Surgical Oncology (2023), author of book chapters and 38 peer-reviewed articles, and an active member and invited speaker of the European Society of Surgery.
