Mario Testini

Professor Mario Testini, MD, PhD, FACS, MSc is Full Professor of General Surgery at the University of Bari, Italy, and Director of the Department of Surgery at the Polyclinic Hospital of Bari. He currently serves as President of the European Society of Surgery (2024–2025) and has held multiple national leadership roles in Italian surgical societies. Prof. Testini has completed residencies in general and cardiac surgery and fellowships in Italy, France, and the USA. His clinical and research interests include general, endocrine, digestive, and emergency surgery. He is the author of over 460 scientific publications and has performed more than 10,000 surgical procedures.
