Hemant Sharma

Dr. Hemant Sharma is a Consultant Transplant and Vascular Access Surgeon at the Royal Liverpool University Hospital and is actively involved in academic leadership at the University of Liverpool. He leads the Postgraduate MSc Programme in Organ Transplantation, providing advanced training for surgeons, nephrologists, and healthcare professionals involved in transplantation science.

With extensive experience in abdominal transplantation, liver and kidney transplantation, hepatobiliary and gastrointestinal surgery, he has contributed significantly to clinical research and education in transplant medicine. He has authored more than 100 scientific publications and his work focuses on transplantation outcomes, surgical training, and innovations in transplant pathways.

Alongside his clinical and academic work, he remains actively engaged in international surgical education and research collaborations.
